Cavosa has been a fundamental part in the development of high speed in Spain. We have participated in the arrival of the AVE to Barcelona with the sections of the arrival of the AVE to the Sants station and the connection between the stations of Sants and La Sagrera, to Malaga with the Abdalajís tunnel and the arrival to María Zambrano station, the arrival of the AVE to Pontevedra with the Cerpozons to Pontevedra sections. In addition to this we have carried out works on the AVE to Valencia and Alicante, in the Basque Y and in Orense as the section of Campobecerros Portocamba where we have executed a double tube tunnel with 3.8 km for each of the tubes. We have also participated in the arrival of the AVE to Asturias in one of the Lots of the Pajares Variation that involved the execution of a 10 km tunnel with the Simple Shield boring machine.
We are currently collaborating in the railway access of the suburban railway to the El Prat airport in Barcelona.
Cavosa has extensive experience in road tunnels throughout the geography of Spain in all kinds of circumstances, whether in soil through mechanical excavation with rocker as in the variant of Fraga, by mechanical excavation with hydraulic backhoe equipped with chopper hammer as in the variant of Burgos, by drilling and blasting in rocky areas, in the more complicated volcanic terrains such as the Guincho tunnel in Tenerife, the Santa Cruz de la Palma bypass tunnels on the island of La Palma, the tunnels of Priañes where the The exit tunnel of these tunnels was made from the inside because access from the outside was not possible. We have also made tunnels in complicated environments such as the Polopos tunnels where there were many convergence problems.
Currently CAVOSA is present in two very important works such as the Occidente Tunnel in Medellín (Colombia), which is 4.5 km long and in the Pyramid tunnel belonging to the AVO I project in Santiago de Chile.
